Dewey Huang is a versatile guitarist, songwriter, and producer based in New York City. He holds a Master’s in Songwriting from New York University and teaches guitar, voice, piano, and songwriting with a patient and encouraging approach.
Since graduating, Dewey has worked with children ages 6–12 at NY Music Kids, where he’s known for his ability to break down complex ideas into clear, engaging steps. His lessons often include games, stickers, and creative activities to keep young learners motivated and excited about music.
As a performer and arranger, Dewey’s experience spans rock, neo-soul, and R&B, with collaborations ranging from the Budapest Symphony Orchestra to local NYC artists. He has released original music and headlined at iconic venues including The Bitter End, Groove, and Nublu. His multifaceted background—guitar, piano, vocals, arranging, and production—allows him to bring a wide range of skills and perspectives to each lesson.
Inspired by his mentor, legendary songwriter-producer Barry Eastmond, Dewey believes in listening deeply to his students and adapting lessons to their individual pace and interests. Families appreciate his patience, flexibility, and ability to make learning both fun and rewarding.
