A music school that understands NYC families
No wondering if the teacher is showing up. No figuring out what time the lesson is this week. Music already has a place in the calendar.
A standing lesson with the same teacher. One less thing to coordinate.
Birthday party? School event? Travel? There is built-in makeup time.
Schedules change. Kids change. You do not have to start the search over again.
The right teacher
This is someone you are opening your home to every week. We take the match seriously.
Musical taste matters. Personality matters. The chemistry in the room matters.
How we teach
A riff. A chord. A song they actually want to play.
Technique, reading and theory grow out of the music, not the other way around.
Music is a language. Our teachers speak it for a living.
Guitar, ukulele + bass
Start there.
Acoustic or electric. Rock, pop, jazz, folk, blues, riffs, improvisation and songwriting.
A great first instrument for many younger players: chords, rhythm, singing and songs.
Groove, time, harmony and learning how to play with other people.
Recitals
WYL students can perform alongside working musicians from the faculty.
The song they learned at home becomes something they make with other people.

We understand the puzzle: the teacher, the kid, the block and the schedule all have to fit.
