Jave Lozeau de Guzman - Piano
Jave Lozeau de Guzman is a dynamic musician and multimedia artist with 17 years of experience playing piano, drawing from both classical and jazz influences. A recent graduate of NYU’s Music Production and Songwriting program, they have released original music, their latest being the six-song EP Forgive, Forget under the moniker Chrysanthemum. Jave is set to continue their studies in the Music Technology graduate program at NYU in the spring and plans to release more music soon.
With a deep passion for music education, Jave has extensive experience teaching students aged 7 to 17 in piano, music theory, and sight-reading. They strive to make learning music fun and engaging, tailoring each lesson to the individual needs of their students. Jave believes in creating a comfortable, encouraging environment where students can explore music at their own pace and connect with it in a meaningful way.
Jave’s flexible teaching approach is centered on understanding that every student learns differently. Whether it’s incorporating students' personal interests into lessons or finding creative ways to make music enjoyable for those less enthusiastic about playing, Jave helps students discover their own love for music. Their experience as a singer and guitarist also adds versatility to their teaching style and a wealth of cross-genre knowledge.
Influenced by their mentor, Grammy-nominated songwriter and producer David Wolfert, Jave encourages students to embrace creativity and experimentation, just as they have in their own music career. Jave’s empathetic nature, coupled with their ability to communicate and connect with students of all ages, makes them a valuable member of the WillYouLearn teaching team.
Outside of music, Jave enjoys drawing, playing video games, and spending time with their cats.
