Melinda F.
Melinda Faylor, a native of New York City, holds a BM from the Oberlin Conservatory and an MM in piano performance from the Manhattan School of Music. She has extensive experience performing electroacoustic music and has been an artist in residence at the Cannery in Maine.
Ms. Faylor has traveled internationally to study and perform, including Gamelan in Bali and concerts in Australia. She has also been involved with Cultures in Harmony, promoting cultural dialogue through music, and has given master classes and concerts in the Philippines.
As a collaborative artist, she has created music for dance and worked with various ensembles and composers. She has performed at notable venues such as the NYC International Fringe Festival, National Sawdust, and the Joyce Theater.
In addition to her performance work, Ms. Faylor has produced concert series and been featured on radio programs. Current projects include a solo electroacoustic album and an interdisciplinary theater piece. She is also the pianist for the Garden Players in Forest Hills, Queens.
