At WillYouLearn, our top priority is the health and well being of our students, their teachers, their families, and their communities. We also have a reputation for reliability and consistency, something we believe to be crucial to a student's development. With all that is unsure in the coming months we are here to be your source of calm educational regularity. An oasis not subject to the confusion of many other of today's experiences. With this in mind we are going to continue teaching virtually through the Fall of 2020 and Spring 2021. We will begin phasing in in-person lessons when appropriate. Now students all over the world have access to the best music teachers New York City has to offer in the convenience of their own home through our virtual platform.

As of Sunday, March 12, we moved to virtual lessons. Our teachers were well prepared and fully equipped. Through hard work and creativity we were able to deliver the same, if not better, high-quality one on one instruction and outstanding results virtually as we do offline.
Our student portal made it easy to get set up online via the Skype and Zoom. Skype, a communication app from Microsoft, allowed our teachers to connect and collaborate with students through video calls and real time file-sharing.
An article from the New York Times described a recent scene in Rome— "It started with the national anthem. Then came the piano chords, trumpet blasts, violin serenades, and even the clanging of pots and pans — all of it spilling from people's homes, out of windows and from balconies, and rippling across rooftops." A 73 year old participant said, "The music was from our hearts, to say thanks and show that we can get past this. . . it's a moment of joy in this moment of anxiety."
We are a community and a family through music. We are here to help you get through this and to help you find those moments of joy.

What Student's Need
Student's simply need reliable internet, a Skype or Zoom account (preferably Skype) and a device with a camera. We recommend a laptop, but any tablet or smart device will do. Ideally students will have a second device to view sheet music and play practice tracks. The primary should be device placed on a secure stand or table. We recommend something like this tripod for tablets or the gorilla pod for phones. We prefer our piano students to have their devices to their side about shoulder height - allowing us to see their hands and posture. Most other instruments can be face to face with their device.
