Allyson Clare - Violin, Viola, Piano
A versatile musician, composer and educator, Allyson Clare performs in conventional chamber music settings as well as her jazz-inspired string quartet, Solar String Quartet. Recent appearances include Merkin Hall, Jordan Hall, and Jazz at Lincoln Center. In October she will perform with her quartet at Brooklyn's BAM Center. Classically trained at San Francisco and New England Conservatories she incorporates world musics into her compositions. world as to bring classical music to diverse groups and individuals living in and around the Tristate area. As an educator Allyson Clare has passionately committed herself to the creative teaching of music theory, violin and chamber music for the last twenty years- most notably on faculty at the San Francisco Conservatory Preparatory Department and most recently at the incredibly rewarding SBAI summer program in the South Bronx.
