NYC’s Most Trusted In-Home Music Lessons—Since 2013

There’s no substitute for one-on-one, in-person attention—especially when it comes to music. In-home lessons give your child something rare: undivided attention from a warm, expert teacher whose only job is to help them grow.

No competition. No crowded rooms. No one else's turn. Just your child, their teacher, and a weekly ritual that becomes part of the rhythm of home.

We’ll teach your child to read music, play by ear, write their own songs, and jam in any genre that sparks their curiosity. Whether it’s Beethoven or Billie Eilish, we meet them where they are and show them what they’re capable of.

Why in home lessons?

  • One-on-One Attention: No two students are alike. In-home lessons allow us to build customized plans based on each child’s personality, interests, and learning style.
  • Comfort + Confidence: When kids feel comfortable, they’re more willing to try, take risks, and enjoy the process.
  • Convenience for Parents: No travel, no rushing, no waiting. We come to you—music lessons that fit your life, not the other way around. We're all about consistency and reliability.
How It Works
It all starts with the right match. Will—the founder of WillYouLearn—personally pairs every new student with a teacher based on personality and goals. Once matched, you’ll receive access to our student portal—your one-stop resource for scheduling, billing, lesson notes, and communication. Then the music begins.

We teach music the way children naturally learn language—by ear, first. Music is, after all, an aural art form. From the very first lesson, we help students listen, explore, and play. More importantly, we empower them to understand that music isn’t something distant or unreachable, it’s already inside them. Our job is to help bring it out.

Though the ear is far and away a musician’s most important tool, we don’t skimp on the fundamentals. As students grow, we build essential musical skills through the songs they know and love. As we like to say, we “sneak in the medicine”:

  • Technique (we emphasize this)
  • Sight Reading
  • Music Theory
  • Songwriting
  • Improvisation

Our team is small, close-knit, and fully invested. We’re not a revolving door of freelancers—we’re a company that collaborates, supports one another, and stays accountable. We check in regularly and keep parents in the loop, so everyone feels supported every step of the way.

When you join WillYouLearn, you're not just getting a great teacher. You're getting a great team committed to your child’s musical journey.
Offerings & Scheduling
We offer two 18-week semesters each year—Fall and Spring—along with a la carte lessons and seasonal workshops. Each semester includes 16 weeks of lessons plus a 2-week make-up period. Students may join at any time, pending availability. We also offer remote lessons for added flexibility.

Enrollment
Getting started is easy. Every new student receives a free consultation to ensure the best possible teacher match. Our faculty fills up quickly, and current students receive priority for schedule changes and re-enrollment.
Spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, and new students can join mid-semester if space is available.

Tuition & Billing
  • Invoices are sent before each semester.
  • Returning families can reserve their spot with a tuition deposit.
  • New students are invoiced upon registration.
  • Deposits are refundable up to four weeks before the semester begins.
See our FAQ page for full tuition details.
Policies Snapshot
  • Withdrawals: New students may withdraw within their first 3 weeks. After that, the semester commitment applies.
  • Cancellations: Students may miss up to 2 lessons per semester with make-up eligibility.
  • Teacher Absences: If your teacher can’t make it, we’ll provide a trusted substitute or reschedule the lesson.
  • Recital: Our annual Spring Recital is a community favorite. Participation is optional, but highly encouraged—it’s a great chance to perform, connect, and celebrate progress.
  • Safety: For all in-home lessons with minors, an adult must be present. If a student isn’t feeling well, we’re happy to reschedule or switch to remote.
  • Punctuality: We value your time and strive to be on schedule. That said—it’s New York City. Trains stall, buses break, elevators jam. We schedule teachers by neighborhood to minimize delays, but if a teacher is running a few minutes late, they’ll always let you know—and your child will still get their full 60-minute lesson.
Ready to Begin?Whether you’re raising the next Mozart or just want to see your child fall in love with music, we’re here to help.
