Leonor Falcon - Violin, Viola, Piano
Violinist and violist Leonor Falcon has a very diverse background performing music of different genres. As a classical musician, she has appeared as a soloist with Virtousi de Caracas, was a member of the Orquesta Sinfonica de Venezuela and in Switzerland, she was a co-founder of thechamber orchestra Camerata Candela that focused on Latin American contemporary repertoire and folk music.
She studied under Virginie Roibilliard at Mozarteum de Caracas, holds a Bachelor of Music degree from IUDEM (University of Music of Venezuela), a Master of Music performance degree from the Conservatory of Geneva, Switzerland and a Master of Jazz performance degree from Queens College in New York City.
Leonor spends her time performing around the NYC area with different projects which include Latin American, classical, jazz, avant-garde and original music. Some collaborations and performances include Willie Colon’s band, Akua Dixon’s string quartet, Sirius string quartet, Maelo and the Latinoexperimental Project, Karl Berger improvisers orchestra, Mario Castro, John Ehlis Ensemble, Sarah Bernstein quartet, Mimi Jones black Madonna quartet, Camila Meza and the Nectar Orchestra, recordings for Christian Howes recording company, Off-Broadway shows with director Julianne Merrill, and most recently with Antenna and Chama, new projects of jazz/avant-garde music that released their albums in 2015 and 2016. Leonor holds an O’Connor method certificate and balances her performing career with teaching violin and viola in different parts of the city. She's currently on faculty at the O'Connor method camp since 2016 as well as faculty at the Lyceum Kennedy French-American school in Manhattan.
Leonor just released her first album entitled IMAGA MONDO, a record in which all compositions are inspired by fantastic and mythological creatures. She’s also a member of the Solar string quartet, which is dedicated to performing original compositions by its members.
