Privacy Policy
WillYouLearn LLC (“WillYouLearn,” “WYL,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides private music lessons, school programs, and related services. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we use it, when we disclose it, and the choices available to you.

1. Information we collect
The information we collect depends on how you interact with WYL. It may include:
- Contact information, such as your name, email address, phone number, and home or lesson address.
- Lesson and student information, such as a student’s name, age, instrument, experience, musical interests, goals, availability, preferred lesson format, and other information you choose to include in an application or message.
- School or organization information if you contact us about a school program, workshop, performance, or other partnership.
- Billing and transaction information, such as the information needed to invoice you, record payments, and manage your account. We currently use My Music Staff as our studio management system for scheduling, student and family records, invoicing, billing, and related administration. Full payment-card information is handled by payment providers used through that system rather than stored directly by WYL.
- Communications, including emails, form submissions, scheduling messages, feedback, and other correspondence with WYL.
- Website and device information, such as browser and device type, approximate location, pages visited, referring pages, interactions with the site, and cookie or similar identifiers.
Please do not send us sensitive personal information that we have not asked for and do not need to provide our services.
2. How we use personal information
We may use personal information to:
- respond to lesson inquiries and applications;
- match students with teachers;
- schedule, administer, and support lessons and school programs;
- communicate with students, parents, guardians, teachers, and school contacts;
- manage tuition, invoices, payments, and business records;
- send service-related updates and, where appropriate, marketing communications;
- operate, maintain, understand, and improve our website and services;
- measure the effectiveness of our advertising and outreach;
- protect WYL, our users, teachers, and services from misuse or security threats; and
- comply with legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations.
3. How we disclose personal information
We do not sell personal information for money. We may disclose personal information in the following circumstances:
Teachers
We share relevant student and family information with a WYL teacher when needed to evaluate a match, arrange a lesson, communicate with the family, or provide instruction.
My Music Staff
We currently use My Music Staff, operated by Port 443 Inc., as our primary studio management system. We use it to maintain student and family records, schedule lessons, track attendance, manage invoices and billing, communicate about lessons, and handle related administrative work.
For student, billing, and other customer information stored in our account, WYL determines why that information is used and My Music Staff processes it as a service provider on our behalf. My Music Staff states that data may be processed in Canada and/or the United States and that payment-card details are provided directly to third-party payment processors rather than stored by My Music Staff.
Other service providers
We also rely on third parties to help run the business, including website hosting, forms, payment processing, email delivery, analytics, advertising, and other operational tools. These providers may process personal information on our behalf or according to their own terms and privacy policies.
Legal and safety reasons
We may disclose information when we reasonably believe it is necessary to comply with law, respond to legal process, protect rights or safety, investigate fraud or misuse, or enforce agreements.
Business changes
If WYL is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.
A note about “sale” and “sharing.” We do not sell personal information for money. Some privacy laws use broader definitions of “sale” or “sharing,” particularly for disclosures connected with targeted advertising. Our website may use analytics and advertising technologies as described below.
4. Cookies, analytics, and advertising
Our website and third-party services may use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to keep the site working, understand traffic and usage, measure marketing, and improve our services.
Current website tools may include Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel. These services can receive information about your browser, device, interactions with our website, and cookie or similar identifiers. Their handling of information is also governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the website work. Where we provide additional cookie or privacy controls, you may also use those controls.
5. Children’s privacy
WYL teaches children, but our website, inquiry forms, enrollment forms, and account communications are intended to be completed or managed by a parent or legal guardian when the student is under 13. Children under 13 should not submit personal information to WYL through the website on their own.
If we learn that we collected personal information online directly from a child under 13 without appropriate parental involvement or consent, we will take reasonable steps to address it, which may include deleting the information.
A parent or guardian may contact us to ask about personal information relating to their child, including requests to review, correct, or delete that information, subject to applicable law and legitimate recordkeeping needs.
6. Data retention and security
Retention
We keep personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including providing services, maintaining business and tax records, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, and meeting legal obligations. Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and why we have it.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. We also rely on service providers to maintain appropriate protections for information they process. No method of storing or transmitting information is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your choices and privacy rights
You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we maintain about you. Depending on where you live, applicable law may give you additional rights concerning your personal information.
- Marketing email: You can unsubscribe using the link in a marketing email. We may still send non-marketing messages about active lessons, billing, scheduling, or other service matters.
- Cookies: You can manage cookies through your browser and any privacy controls we make available on the site.
- Requests: Email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
We may retain certain information when permitted or required by law, including information needed for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or other legitimate business purposes.
8. Visitors outside the United States
WYL is based in the United States. If you contact us or use our services from another country, your information may be processed and stored in the United States or in other locations where our service providers operate. Privacy laws in those locations may differ from those where you live.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as our services, technology, or legal obligations change. When we do, we will post the revised policy here and update the “Last updated” date above. If a change is material, we may provide additional notice when appropriate.
