Summer Enrollment Policies
Philosophies, Policies and Procedures
WillYouLearn offers one-on-one music lessons in the convenience of your own home. Our goal is to balance the traditional fundamentals of music education with complimentary studies that nurture the student’s individual artistic strengths and interests.
WillYouLearn lessons encompass sight reading, music theory, ear training, improvisation and more. Lesson content spans musical genres from classical to rock to country to jazz and everything in-between. We encourage students to learn to play the music that motivates them, while at the same time we teach them the skills they need to explore any genre.
Tuition, Enrollment & Billing
WillYouLearn offers summer lesson from mid June to early September. Students may chose from a number of packages or work with our office to create a custom plan. Tuition varies based on the number of lessons. New student registration continues until the program is booked to capacity. Our faculty’s schedule is filled on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis.
Withdrawals and Refund Policy
Any student can withdraw from a summer program during the first three lessons. Should you choose to withdraw within this three-lesson period, you will receive a penalty-free refund minus a prorated charge for your lessons to date. After three lesson, students must fulfill their lesson package before the start of the fall semester. Withdrawal from the program after three lessons but prior to the end of the semester requires full payment.
Lesson Cancellation Policy
For the summer sessions WillYouLearn offers two opportunities to reschedule lessons based on the mutual availability of the teacher and student. There is no make up period. If for any reason, including illness, a student cancels more than twice, additional rescheduling will not be offered. Lessons cancelled without at least 24 hours notice are not eligible for any rescheduling and will not be refunded. If your teacher should miss a lesson for any reason, such as illness, a rescheduling opportunity will be extended.
Lesson Cancellation Procedures
For any cancellation of a scheduled lesson call the WillYouLearn office at 917-836-1843. You may also email [email protected] for advanced notice cancelations. For lessons canceled with less than 24 hours notice, please contact your teacher directly at the phone number provided on your registration confirmation form. Lessons not cancelled in accordance with these procedures may not be eligible for a make-up credit.
Odds and Ends
WillYouLearn’s faculty has a reputation for reliability and punctuality. However, because we rely mostly on public transportation, lesson start time can sometimes vary by several minutes. Regardless of these slight variations, all lessons will total 60 minutes from the time the instructor enters your home.
“No shows” are upsetting. If the teacher arrives for a lesson and the student is not home, the teacher will wait for 10 minutes past the start of the scheduled lesson time. After 10 minutes, the teacher will leave and no make-up credit will be granted.
If a teacher arrives for a lesson and a student is contagiously ill, the teacher may choose not to stay for the lesson. In such a case, no credit will be issued for the missed lesson.
Please note: an adult is required to be in the home during the duration of each lesson for all students under the age of 18.
THanks for your interest in lessons with WillYouLearn.
