An Afternoon of Jigs, Reels and Hornpipes
Brothers Patrick and Will Armstrong grew up surrounded by Irish culture. Sons of the famed Irish American National Book Award Winner Alice McDermott, Patrick took to the music first when he picked up a tin whistle for the first time in Doolin, Ireland in 2000. Will followed suit after accompanying Patrick as a chaperone to Irish Arts week in Elkins, WV.
Patrick has since become an award winning Irish tin whistle, flute and uilleann piper who has competed three times in the All Ireland World Championships and has been featured on Irish National Television. A recent graduate from Fordham University, Patrick can be heard at sessions throughout the city. Last year Patrick and Will had the honor of performing on St. Patrick's day for the Taoiseach at the Irish Embassy in D.C.
