Vicky Chow.

Vicky Chow is a pianist based in Brooklyn and a member of the Bang on a Can All-Stars. Her work has put her alongside many of the major composers and ensembles in contemporary music, including Steve Reich, Philip Glass, Terry Riley, Meredith Monk, Tania León, John Zorn, Julia Wolfe, David Lang, Michael Gordon, Kronos Quartet, and the International Contemporary Ensemble.

She has toured in more than 40 countries and performed at venues including Carnegie Hall, Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Barbican Centre, Royal Albert Hall for the BBC Proms, Hong Kong Arts Centre, and Teatro Colón.

Vicky has appeared on more than 25 solo and chamber recordings. Her recording of Julia Wolfe's Pulitzer Prize-winning Anthracite Fields with the Bang on a Can All-Stars and Trinity Choir received a Grammy nomination, and her recording of Vince Ho's Supervillain Etudes was nominated for a JUNO Award.

Her recordings also include Philip Glass's Piano Etudes, Book 1, Michael Gordon's Sonatra, Tristan Perich's Surface Image, Jane Antonia Cornish's Sierra, and Cassie Wieland's HYMN.

Vicky earned bachelor's and master's degrees in piano performance from The Juilliard School and a master's degree in contemporary performance from Manhattan School of Music. She is a mentor at Juilliard, serves on the faculty of the Bang on a Can Summer Institute and Nief-Norf Summer Festival, and is a Yamaha Artist.
